The Plague
18 SeptemberWhen we step outside of God's will and start stepping into what WE will, that's when we start skating on thin ice.
There are many types of seasons but the two ends of the spectrum are as follows: one of bounty and one of dryness. It's easy to praise God in the bounty, but the real test is the dry wasteland. Often in dry wastelands, it's so easy to let what we want govern our actions. However, if we aren't holding fast and heeding and seeking God's counsel, then we are walking through that wasteland in complete darkness often wondering why we aren't seeing results. Eventually if we aren't seeking God's counsel, the desires will take over and we will get what we desire; but when it's outside of God's will, it carries a plague along with it.
"Then his people believed his promises. They sang his praise. Yet how quickly they forgot what he had done. They wouldn't wait for his counsel! In the wilderness their desires ran wild, testing God's patience in that dry wasteland. So he gave them what they asked for, but he sent a plague along with it." - Psalm 106:12-15
